Christmas Eve Eve

When pSc came home on leave for Thanksgiving, we already knew that we would not be spending Christmas together. It isn't unusual for a military couple to spend the holidays apart, and I am extremely thankful that we got to spend Thanksgiving together, and that I will be seeing him in a week to ring in the New Year as well!

Traditionally, my family starts decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. Since pSc was still in town we were able to put up the tree and decorate it with lights, garland, and ornaments. Once we were finished I was able to get the cliche bf/gf picture by the tree. ;)

Let me tell you, I did not take one second of pSc's visit for granted. It was the first time we had seen each other in 4.5 months and we made the most of every second we were together. I honestly find that distance helps me appreciate the little time I do get to spend with him.

Everything is better with him by my side. We fight less and love more. I cry less and laugh more. Instead of counting down the days, we live in the moment. I long for the day when we can close the gap between us, for good.

Wishing everyone peace, love, hope and joy this holiday season!

My Audience

I am off to a terrible start with this whole "blogging" thing. To be honest, I am having a hard time deciding who my target audience should be. While I would love to blog about style and fashion, I must admit that I am not that creative in that department and rely on other bloggers for my daily ensemble. And, though I do LOVE food, I am much better at eating than I am at cooking.

I am leaning towards blogging about the every day life as a "milso" (Military Significant Other). There are a number of topics that I know I could just go on forever discussing. However, my blog name "Big Pink Tractor" does not attract the milso community. I could always change my blog name but I am just so in love with it!

Ohhhh the struggles of blogging!

First Post!

I have been following the blog-world for years now and finally decided to give it a try. To be honest, this isn't my first attempt, but I would love for it to be my last. Please bare with me while I attempt to get the hang of things.

I guess I will start by introducing myself. For anonymity purposes in the beginning, I will refer to myself as my monogram, dBe. Here are a few fun facts about me:

  • I am 23 years old.
  • I am obsessed with all things preppy, pink, and monogrammed.
  • I was born and raised on Long Island, New York.
  • My Alma Mater is Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, located in Troy, NY (Class of 2013).
  • Currently I work in the Marketing Department of an engineering firm on Long Island as a Proposal Writer/Coordinator.
  • My boyfriend, pSc, is Active Duty Military (Army).
  • I LOVE our pitbull/terrier mix puppy, Dixie!
  • I have a slight major obsession with country music.
That's enough about me for now, I'll check back in tomorrow!

Yours,
